The Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors Soccer Club is a Christian sports ministry of The Nehemiah Group, Inc., a West Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Working in tandem with Countryside Baptist Church in Forest Hill, WV, The King's Warriors Soccer Club has been sponsoring youth soccer activities in southern West Virginia for several years. Dr. James Blume, pastor of Countryside Baptist Church and founder and president of TNG, has had a vision for many years of bringing professional soccer to the area.  With the purchase of a Premier Development League (PDL) franchise, that dream has become a reality. With the presence of the PDL team, area youth soccer players will see a new level of soccer to which they can aspire.

The mission of The Nehemiah Group, Inc., is multi-faceted, yet can be expressed very simply- Glorify God, and serve others. Our namesake, Nehemiah, is mostly remembered as an Old Testament hero that is memorialized with a book in the Bible bearing his name. However, many people forget that Nehemiah was a servant-slave, cupbearer to the Persian King  Artaxerxes. From this humble position, Nehemiah answered the call to leave exile and captivity in Babylon and return to Jerusalem. At that time it was a devastated, burned out city in ruins, with its walls toppled in mounds of rubble, ashes, and refuse. He responded when no one else dared, tried when no one else would, and accomplished what no one else believed could be done. With manly resolve, steadfast faith, and Godly character, Nehemiah led his people to do the impossible- they built the wall.  It is because of his example that we take his name, The Nehemiah Group. “So built we the wall…for the people had a mind to work”. Nehemiah 6:4

While TNG’s primary focus is on soccer- related sports ministries, we also have a goal of reaching out in other areas. We stress Bible knowledge and teaching, community service, music, and general education. We are developing a College and Career Center that will help young people develop life goals and strategies and then pursue them.

Our youth soccer programs continue to expand. In the fall, we invite children ages 1-3 to participate in Little STARZ, a parent-directed one-on-one time that introduces little ones to “the beautiful game”. UPWARD soccer provides a wonderful experience for 4 year olds up to middle schoolers. We also have a JV team and a varsity boys team. We joined the National Christian School Athletic Association in 2011 and went to Erie, PA, for their national championships. After sweeping the invitational tournament, we were crowned Division I Champions. We also have the Lady King's Warriors, a varsity/JV girls' soccer team. KWSC is a member of United States Youth Futsal (indoor soccer) and organized a local futsal league for players from grade school through adult.  Spring brings opportunities for teams to play in the West Virginia Youth Soccer Association.

The King’s Warriors Soccer Club wants to give every young player the opportunity to develop their skills in a Christ-honoring, nurturing environment that encourages a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and a life of service to others.
