Chapter 357: Elder Huo’s Schemes (II)

Elder Huo was glad that his daughter was seeing sense for the first time in her life. He raised his hands in the air and caught hers before saying, "I have got just the thing for you. All you need to do is listen to your father; as long as you do as I tell you, you will become the consort of the prince even if he does not want it to happen. Even your underlings will never dare to say a thing about your pursuit of the prince."

Though Huo Qing had a feeling that whatever Elder Huo was about to tell her was nothing good, she had no other choice at the moment. If she were to chase after the prince, then she would be slapping her own face, which was something that she did not want to do. She sucked in a breath and said, "Alright, let’s hear what you have to say to me."

While Elder Huo and Huo Qing were planning to entrap Rong Xian, Ruan Chanchan was looking at the fate points that she had earned at the moment. After taking care of most of the problems of the Killer Whale Tribe, the goodwill points that she had collected were more than satisfactory. He was quite relieved when he saw that Ruan Chanchan had no intention of doing so.

"Then I will follow you to the square." Ruan Chanchan completely forgot about the banquet that the Killer Whale Tribe was holding. She had been too engrossed in looking at her points and arranging things in the supermarket space. She apologetically smiled at the mer and then said in a low voice, "I really had no intention of ignoring the banquet, but I was arranging something to offer to the queen and forgot about it. Thank you for calling me." Seeing the nervous look on the face of the mer, she had a very good idea that the elders must be saying something incredibly rude behind her back.

The scout mer waved his hands as if trying to say that it was alright. He did not say anything, as he did not want to get involved between the two factions for no reason. He was just a little ant that could be squeezed at any moment by just about anyone. He would rather stay silent than cause trouble for himself for no reason.

Ruan Chanchan did not make things difficult for the poor mer who looked like he was inches away from fainting. She stayed silent and did not make any small talk with the mer as she could see that the mer was not interested in talking with her.

With the vessel that contained the coke, she arrived at the square where the rest of the people of the tribe had arrived. When they saw her coming, some of the members indeed pulled long faces, but the majority of them smiled at Ruan Chanchan in greeting. Queen Rong, in particular, walked over Ruan Chanchan with her hands in the air and loudly exclaimed, "My dear Chanchan. It’s a good thing that you were able to join us for this banquet; for a second, I thought that you were going to skip."

"Coming after the queen has already arrived. It seems like Miss Ruan does not take her majesty seriously." Elder Huo commented from the side. His snide remarks made the air awkward for a few seconds before Ruan Chanchan bowed her head and said, "This is something that I arranged for her highness to drink. If you do not mind, then you can have a taste of this thing, your majesty. I am sure that you will like it." She paused for a second and then added with an embarrassed tone, "I was preparing this drink for your majesty and completely forgot about the time. I apologise for making you all wait."

The queen was overjoyed when she heard Ruan Chanchan’s words. She jovially laughed and clapped her hands together. "You are really something! To think that you actually came with a gift to the banquet that we arranged just for you. You really are polite, Miss Ruan!" As she spoke, she glanced at the elders as if warning them to be mindful.

Elder Huo was furious when he was glared at, but he calmed down when he thought of his plan. After tonight, the queen had to bow down to him, no matter what!
